Production cancelled mid run due to a fire and involved the society in a heavy financial loss

Interestingly often listed in more recent programmes as a 1927 production - older programmes state 1928 and  anewspaper article review sates it as 1928 also.

The society turns 21. Local press advertise the Society as 'Coming of Age'

Less than a month before the show was to take to the stage, the infamous D'Oly Carte Opera touring company, acting at short notice ,produced the same title at the same theatre - HAOS wrote to the newpaper to air their dismay.
