Delivering quality musical theatre productions to entertain audiences across West Yorkshire
We continually makes every effort to access, identify and develop new means of gaining essential funds via grants, the generosity of others through giving, and regular fundraising initiatives in order to keep the cost to our members and patrons as low as practicably possible amid growing overheads, thus allowing the community of Calderdale, with different levels of household incomes, to engage directly with the arts on a continual basis.
Operating since 1901, HAOS Productions is a creative organisation which encourages and inspires its members of all ages to be involved in a wide range of activities encompassing stage production. The company is focused on developing our members’ confidence and skills through participation in theatre, whilst providing a platform to create affordable entertainment and social interaction for all.
To assist us in achieving our goals we focus our attentions on 6 key drivers…
Although we aim to get the very best out of everybody that contributes to one of our productions, we try to maintain a fun and social atmosphere at all times. Our teams work all year round to mount comfortable and friendly community events where crew, volunteers and parents can relax, socialise and help develop the all-important teamwork ethic we hold at our core.
Anyone involved with HAOS or HATY has the right to dignity and respect; to be who they are without feeling ashamed or demeaned; and to be who they wish to be at all times, thriving in their own unique individuality. We believe that every one of our member’s voice matters, and their opinion is essential to the whole family’s growth.
A home for all - Having operated for around 120 years, we know the importance of keeping Calderdale performance community arts alive, and the great physical and mental benefits to all that it provides. We want our facilities and experience to be available for use by the wider community of similar hobby providers, and focus continually to develop initiatives to help us to support other local groups, including affordable access to use of our rehearsal rooms and assets.
HAOS operates continually throughout the year actively encouraging any person, new or existing, from all cultural or economic backgrounds, to get involved with the plethora of opportunities we strive to offer on a regular basis. Regardless of previous experience or ability our group offers something for everyone; “treading the boards” is only one of a huge array of ways our members enjoy being part of the family.
Peace of mind
The welfare and safety of all, not least our young and vulnerable members or facility users is paramount to us, continually developing and improving all our policies/procedures strengthens our best practices to give everyone peace of mind that our members are protected and nurtured.
We endeavour to provide an engaging and stimulating environment for performers and production staff to grow and develop through the offering of more challenging and unusual titles that many of our counterparts simply don’t have the resources or courage to tackle. We strive to inspire all of our group to work as a team to present only the highest level achievable in any respective field for our proud and loyal supporters to enjoy.
As always, if we missed something, or you have something you want to add or suggest, perhaps you have an idea for a social event?
