HUNCHBACK - Casting Now!

Casting Process Open!

Some of our members and supporters had "got the hump" that they couldn't attend our recent launch night (cue the audible groan), so we thought we'd share a way to catch up on what you missed out on...

Just in case you somehow missed it - We are super lucky to be one of the first amateur companies in the country to succeed in securing a license to present this amazing work. With some of the most luscious and soaring music written for musical theatre, by two of Broadway's biggest legends, this popular 1996 Disney animated film translates into a powerful and evocative piece of dramatic theatre, with arguably the largest possibility of opportunities for cast. And that is where you come in!

Our team for Hunchback spent an hour or so on Saturday evening describing their ambitious vision for the piece, and how they want it to be a VERY inclusive show, with quite literally unlimited places. For this reason they have created, and spent some time explaining, a number of different ways to feature as a performer, catering for an array of different strengths, preferences and limitations. Aside from the more typical focused line-up of principals, there will also be a large featured on-stage choir, and 2 different ensemble troupes featuring in slightly different ways.

Anyone aged 16+ by opening night can register interest to be part of this fantastic show. You don’t need to have had any previous experience or training; we are looking for people who are committed, enthusiastic and willing.

As we knew that our launch night and social evening being timed to clash with Bank Holiday Weekend and the last week of the summer holidays was far from ideal, we expected to receive a number of apologies, and disappointed parties that couldn't attend. For this reason, the website team, alongside the production team, pre-planned to make available a large amount of information for perusal that explains all the different options in far greater detail than we would like to in this mailout.

If you would like to find out more about what is involved and how to register please click here.

Auditions will take place on Saturday 25th September

Those wishing to be involved in a manner that does not require an audition can simply register their notification of intention to participate.

As always, please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions. Karen our production secretary is most likely the best place to start at production.secretary@haosproductions.com
