ELF Production Team

Meet our very own three wise men.....

You may have spotted the news that for our 2022 production of CALENDAR GIRLS, we are hoping to feature an all female creatives team, well just to balance things up here is our all male team for this year's Christmas show ELF - THE MUSICAL! We are of course kidding, they are indeed immensely talented, and we are very lucky to have them, but the fact they are all men is purely coincidental!

We'd like to take the time to wish them a huge HAOS welcome, and to reassure them that we are equally excited to get going, and to get in the Christmas spirit too. Thank you to Sam, Charles and Gary for joining the Elf team, let's take a moment to find out more about them....

DIRECTOR - SAM MILNES
Sam has a BA (Hons) degree in Drama from the University of Manchester and has taught Drama in both secondary schools and colleges. Sam has performed in a number of plays, including community productions at Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre and Leeds Playhouse. With HAOS, Sam has acted (and attempted to sing and dance!) in 'Titanic', 'Sweeney Todd' and 'Hairspray' . Sam directed 'Ghost' for HAOS in 2015. Sam is also currently working on a self-penned production - 'Scarbados'. As a big fan of Christmas, Sam can't wait to get started with 'Elf'!

MUSICAL DIRECTOR - CHARLIE RHODES

Charlie currently works as Teacher of Singing and Director of Choirs at Rastrick High School. He also has a wide portfolio of freelance work including co-directing North8 vocal octet and touring with the Gary Clarke Company as Assistant Musical Director on the production of Wasteland. In addition to this, Charlie is currently studying for an MEd at the Royal College of Music. This will be Charlie's first show with HAOS at the head of the music department, and he is looking forward immensely to working with the HAOS members, Sam and Gary.

CHOREOGRAPHER - GARY MORT
Gary hails from the North East and started dancing at the age of 11 which led him to his love for Musical Theatre. Gary is also an accomplished Allstar Cheerleading and Dance Coach/Judge and has been choreographing both cheerleading and dance routines for over 15 years and is proficient in many different dance styles including Lyrical, Jazz, Commercial and Hip Hop.
With theatre credits including Evita, Cinderella, Legally Blonde, 9 to 5, Sister Act, A Chorus Line, Bad Girls and Oklahoma amongst others, this will be Gary’s first show with HAOS and is looking forward to bringing some Christmas ‘cheer’ to Elf later this year!

What happens next?...
Our next step will be to get together with the gents above as soon as we can, make some headway towards organisation of the casting process, & we are fingers crossed that we can plan a possible launch night too, so watch this space for more info.
