Elf - Postponed

Earlier this year we were thrilled to have been able to utilise the strange turn of events to positively secure the rights to perform the very popular "Elf - The Musical", a title that is almost never available to amateur groups, and certainly never during the festive season. Very much like Assassins, we feel this title deserves a size-able space to perform in, and a full (non socially distanced) audience to perform to. For this reason, we are thrilled to announce that we have successfully managed to negotiate deferring the rights to perform this fantastic opportunity until next Christmas, 2021, where we can really do it justice, and give all the community of Calderdale the true Christmas treat they deserve.

Whilst the performing arts industry continues to impress on the government that theatres are able to and must reopen safely based on Andrew Lloyd Webber's London Palladium model, it has become clear that any hope of being able to perform to non socially distanced audiences in November of this year is very slight. Our teams hadbeen working throughout lockdown to secure a production team ready to prepare this production to stage at our very own Wellington Rooms, and even modelled out an audience setting in the rooms with 1m social distance spacing, and we were raring to go, but we feel this great fun piece and possible large cast deserves to be shown to a fuller audience. So the show will absolutely go on, just a little later than we’d hoped.

Stay tuned to our website for the most current information and follow our social channels where we’ll be keeping everyone up to date with developments regarding HAOS and all the shows in our (now jam-packed) 2021 season.

Thank you for supporting HAOS and HATY and we hope to see you in our rooms very soon.

With our best wishes for your health and well-being,

The HAOS team.
