The Fates are a trio inspired by the Greek Moirai - the mythological beings who control human destiny. In the musical, they act less like literal gods of fate and more like ever-present voices inside the characters' heads.

They narrate and comment on events, amplify fear and insecurity, push characters toward doubt creating tension between hope and inevitability. Unlike Hermes, who guides with warmth and perspective, the Fates often trap characters in spirals of anxiety and second-guessing. They rarely force anyone to act directly. Instead, they whisper possibilities and worst-case scenarios until characters convince themselves.

The Fates are known for tight, layered harmonies, repetitive lyrical phrases, overlapping lines, rhythmic, hypnotic patterns. Their songs can sound seductive, mocking, playful, or threatening all at once.

They have some key numbers and feature heavily throughout the show. There will be a significant amount of rehearsal time required for the Fates to ensure an excellent standard of close harmony singing.
