STOP THE WORLD, I WANT TO GET OFF
A thought-provoking tale about the fleeting nature of worldly success.
*Due to rescheduling of events around the COVID-19 pandemic this production has been postponed until further notice.
In a circus-like world, the hero - an everyman character named Littlechap - is born, grows up, faces life's many challenges, and ultimately makes a choice celebrating the perpetual cycle of life. Littlechap finds himself a father before his time.
He agreed to marry Evie because it offered him certain business advantages. Now he succeeds in his position, but finds himself trapped in the responsibility of a premature family. He turns to the woman of the world but finds only empty fulfilment. In the twilight of his years he finally discovers that he has wasted his life looking for something that was before him all the time - his wife's true love.
The tuneful score by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse includes the hit songs "What Kind of Fool Am I?," "Once In A Lifetime," and "Gonna Build A Mountain."
